Halloween Crazy Quilt
I'm breaking away from recipes today to share one of my quilts with you. Fall is the perfect season to break out the quilts. My son's Birthday is in October. He loves October and everything that goes with it - including Halloween. He's the inspiration behind this quilt. I wanted something totally fabulously funk-ily spooky and bright. And since I knew my kiddos would be snuggling and loving it to pieces, I needed it to be quick and easy, as far as quilts go, so my heart didn't go bump, when they touched it. I used Buggy Barn's "Crazies" pattern. Now they have something fun to cuddle with as the leaves change and the air chills.
I love the Halloween fabrics in this quilt. They were so much fun to pick out. There's a little bit of everything - spiders, webs, mummies, ghosts, monsters, pumpkins, and more.
Did you spot the spider web that my quilter, Marge, designed in the stitching? I think it added the perfect touch. My kiddos love the monsters creeping along the border.
The quilt is backed with coordinating stripes. Kind of funky, but they love it!
Thanks for checking out my quilt. I hope you like it as much as we do! Last year I made a ghost ribbon wreath for Halloween. Click here for a closer look.
Cool and seasonal quilt! I am working on a pink-is-for-girls quilt for a friends new baby. It's big enough for Mum and Babe to snuggle in during the night feeds coming up. The backing on mine is lush white fleece. No batting needed. Don't you just love the snuggleness of Quilts?
